Loki gave a bit of confused look. Mortals… those of Midgar, were very confusing in their own ways, that he could never understand why such a race existed. “I do not understand your reference, but it is like so. They should understand who rules this world, and they will all fall before me.” Loki began to pace to one side slowly as he listen to the other speak. As far as he was concern, this one was perhaps one of the most clueless with the least amount of common sense ever. Just a feeling, of course.
“Let us just say, it would be because I have a bit of revenge for someone that I chose this world to rule. But simple mortals like yourself… why is it you murder one another each and every day? You would need someone…not of Midgar, but somewhere else, to put them all in their place. I simply wish to free you all from freedom. You all say you have freedom, but what amount of freedom is there? It’s a lie that you have all lived with for hundreds of years.” Loki stopped walking, giving in a small smirk. “Do you not believe what I say is true?”
Elmer laughed, he really should have expected that. The more he talked to the dark haired man the more it became apparent that he was completely unfamiliar with the culture of the place he was planning to rule. ”It’s from a movie, Field of Dreams, you should watch it sometime.” He smiled. ”Maybe you should put up billboards to get the message out. No offense or anything but I’d never heard of you before we met just now. If you’re going to rule the Earth you’ll want to get your name out there.” Elmer was trying to be helpful, despite having no experience in the field of conquering planets he had a nagging suspicion that his new acquaintance was going about it the wrong way.

“Ooooh, so it’s a revenge thing!” He was trying not to laugh. ”Well it’s kind of funny that you put it that way, but a lot of people murder other people for revenge. There’s also anger, depression, because one person kidnapped the others baby, or took a parking spot they wanted.” He ticked the reasons off on his fingers as he spoke. ”What’s so wrong with living a lie? I mean it seems to make people happy just as often as it makes them sad.” Elmer smiled. ”Unless you think everyone would be happy all the time if their freedom was gone. If something like that turned out to be true I’d be inclined to help you.” He gave an indignant little snort which he followed up with another smile. ”I’ll be three hundred and twenty three next year.” He shrugged. ”And as for believing you I think I’d need to see your results to believe it.”
Elmer was most certainly right about Izaya finding his viewpoint interesting. However, it was somewhat frustrating too, in that the informant couldn’t quite get a grip on who Elmer was. “It’s true~ They can be stuck in their ways one moment and completely fickle the next…though I suppose you could call it being consistently inconsistent.” Not that either of the two could be a complete exception to this observation. Though neither really seemed to have ‘loved ones’ they most certainly displayed this trait in some way or another. Izaya might give off the vibe that he believes otherwise, but his humanity exists in ways he refuses to express.
“Ah~ spreading cheer? How noble of you.” The informant actually couldn’t be sure his cause was noble in any traditional sense of the word, but perhaps such a comment would prompt more explanation.
“What do you act on, then, if not emotions~?” Only one answer seemed evident to Izaya, but people were capable of rather interesting answers to such questions. Many times they made little to no sense, but that hardly mattered. That was just one of many things that made humans interesting.
“You’ve already given me some rather interesting information. But if you have anything else interesting to share, I’d be much obliged to hear it~” Izaya rarely came across anyone so willing to give information, so he would hardly turn Elmer’s offer down. The second part of the immortal’s statement caught him rather off guard, though. “Whatever do you mean I’m ‘only kind of smiling’~?” was all he managed in response. He himself wasn’t really sure if there was something else. He wasn’t even quite honest enough with himself to tell.
“Consistently inconsistent… I like that! It’s got a really good ring to it.” In his mind he was off writing a jingle designed to advertise the consistent inconsistency of the human race. Without realizing what he was doing he started to hum his imaginary jingle, completely distracted from what they’d been talking about.

“People always say that.” Elmer said with a smile. ”It’s not though, it’s actually rather selfish of me.” He laughed and waved a hand. ”I mean it’s not like I’m doing it for them,” almost as an afterthought he added, “although they do get the backwash of it all.”
“Instinct I guess.” He shrugged with a laugh. ”I’ve been told that calling it ‘logic’ would be an insult to all logical thought. So let’s go with instinct.” Elmer said. ”Oh! And other times I come up with fun ways of deciding things, like flipping a coin, or setting up a dart board of options and throwing things at it, stuff like that. Once I even set up a little lottery.” He chuckled as he spoke.
“I’m glad I could help.” Elmer said with a smile. He tapped a finger to his chin as he searched his mind for any other interesting information he happened to know. ”Hmm… Well the other day I watched a fascinating documentary on sloths… But I doubt that would be helpful…” As he continued to think (although now he was mostly thinking about sloths) he laughed a little. ”Hm? Oh, it’s just the look on your face…” He waved a hand. ”It’s not a real smile, is it? Not completely anyway.”

“Well not all of us can be lucky to have a suuuuper good education like you do, oniisan,” A lie and a pout. But only because what was what the panda boy thought right now. “Shinjuurou go with me? Maybe… but I’d gotta ask him and I don’t think we have a lot of money for traveling anyways,” Inga proceeded to pout even more. Even as the stranger seemed curious about the war torn city. “I guess so… Mm? Something like that. Doesn’t matter anymore since it’s all over and everyone can be all happy and stuff now, right?~”
“Haha, I guess it is all luck isn’t it?” He smiled. ”But maybe you’ll get lucky too! I mean I didn’t learn to read or write until after I was ten, so it’s possible that your luck is just a little more delayed than mine!” He was hoping to coax a smile out of the boy. ”I’m sure someone will walk into your life and teach you whatever it is you want to know.” Still determined to get Inga to smile, Elmer pressed on. ”Even if you can’t travel right now perhaps the two of you could start putting a bit of money away, that way you’d have something to look forward to, and once you do get to travel it’ll be much more fulfilling.” He really believed all the ridiculous things he said, even if they were as silly as this. Elmer’s smile dimmed momentarily before flickering back to life. ”Everyone ought to be happy all the time… But I suppose that’s not possible yet so we’ll just have to make due.”

Bwahahahahaha I think that’s it because I took so long to reply to some other people and stuff.
Um… If we were rping and you want to pick up where we left off just let me know and I’ll either send you a link or facepalm and realize I never responded. (Should the latter take place I’ll still send you a link once I reply, it’ll just be with more shame.) }
I got done two before food distracted me.
Is there anyone else I owe?
“Hmmm…”
The boy contemplated this question for a moment. After all, there were so many areas to start with. However, Shion was only interested in the ones he could use to his advantage- the ones that made him likeable even in the roughest of situations. Perhaps something to go along with what he was playing out right now- a fake personality maybe? There’s tons of places to start, c’mon Shion, just pick one! he thought, with the slightest hint of frustration before finally deciding, “Well, being on top secret missions and stuff can be dangerous. Maybe we should start with something like~…. Oh! How can I deal with the kind of people who would hate my guts?” he asked. Yes, that was a good place to start.

Still smiling, Elmer wondered if Shion would be happier for his advice. It was the sort of advice designed to make other people happy after all, and as such it often required the person implementing it to sustain a bit of damage. But even so, if the young man was a secret agent lulling his enemies into a false sense of security could be helpful. ”Well for people who hate your guts the most important part is finding out why they hate you so much.” He nodded. ”Once you know why you can take that reasoning and use it to play out a scenario where it’s your downfall.” Elmer waved his hands as he explained. ”For example if someone hates you because they think you’ve got a big ego you need to make them think that they’ve managed to use your ego to defeat you.” He chuckled. ”Of course the real trick of it all is making them think that when it’s not actually true. Faking your death sometimes helps with that.” Elmer said. ”And then when you’re done the person who used to hate you is substantially happier and you’ve got less to worry about.”
“Yes. You can say it’s my own… personal crown. As to why… well why shouldn’t I? It is made for the world to recognize me as King of course. Because the day will come, when I will be ruler of this world.” He gave a slight smirk at the idea of ruling this world. If Asgard can’t be ruled by him, then this world would have to be his. Even if it is under the protection of his so-called ‘brother’. Loki though was slightly amused by the other’s action. Already one who bows before a King…. it was quite interesting to say the least.
“Why, the ruler of earth of course. Before I was King for a short amount of time of Asgard. Then banish until I met an interesting force that is not part of the nine realms. Now I am here on this earth… because mortals like yourself were made to be ruled.” He chuckled to himself, folding his hands to his chest.
“Oh!” He exclaimed with a smile. ”So it’s part of your political platform. Kind of like ‘if you build it they will come’, right? If you’re wearing the crown they ought to be hailing you as a king.” As far as Elmer could tell it was a decent plan; although not one with a high success rate when used alone, but he assumed that the future king had a backup plan that involved either gaining people’s adoration, or fear.

“Good luck with that.” He chuckled. As someone who had been alive for more than three hundred years Elmer knew that conquering and ruling the Earth was easier said than done; he’d been alive long enough to see a few dictators try it. ”Are we really made to be ruled?” He asked with a smile. ”I mean I see your point and all, people do get a kick out of ruling each other, but they also get a fair amount of joy out of things like rebellions and uprisings. If I had to venture a guess I’d say we’re a fifty-fifty split.” Elmer slid his hands into his pockets as he spoke, grinning all the while.
